Wasma is one of the key exhibitions in Russia, bringing together manufacturers and suppliers of environmental technologies, representatives of recycling and waste management companies, regional operators, environmental specialists from industrial enterprises, and representatives of state and municipal authorities.

The exhibition will be held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, with the Russian Environmental Operator (PPK REO) Public Law Company traditionally acting as co-organiser.

This year, the exhibition will showcase equipment and machinery for the collection, transportation, sorting, storage and disposal of waste; equipment for recycling and environmental monitoring; equipment for drainage, water treatment and wastewater treatment, as well as technologies for industrial air purification and environmental rehabilitation of territories.

The main highlight of Wasma will be its business programme, which will include key industry events:
  • International Congress of Environmental Technologies, where legislative initiatives in the field of state environmental control will be discussed; recent changes in EPR (extended producer responsibility) regulation; current standards in separate waste collection; problematic aspects of regional operators' activities; technological innovations in organic waste treatment; and best practices in environmental monitoring technologies. Special attention will be given to regulatory issues related to construction and demolition waste management and the use of secondary resources in the production of construction materials.
  • Industrial and Domestic Wastewater Treatment Conference, which will address current issues in regulating and monitoring wastewater discharge; modernisation of industrial wastewater treatment facilities; technologies for treating complex industrial effluents; technologies for sludge neutralisation and utilisation, as well as its use in industrial and agricultural applications; innovative approaches using automated systems; and best available techniques in wastewater treatment.
  • Waste Management Lecture Hall – a platform for discussing practical approaches and creative case studies in waste management, corporate environmental projects, and financial aspects of implementing EPR mechanisms.

The business game “Close the Loop”, dedicated to modelling the circular economy, will take place on the second day of the exhibition. Participants will be immersed in the principles of the circular economy, working with real-life cases and constraints.

Exhibition partners: the National Association for Oil Spill Prevention and Response (NASOPN), the Russian Association of Water Supply and Sewerage (RAWSS), the National Association of Water Supply and Sewerage (NAWSS), the “Resurs” Circular Economy Association, the “Klever” Waste Management Association, the Waste Recycling Association (WRA), the “Rosutilizatsiya” National Association for Waste Collection and Recycling, the “Ecoshinsouz” Tyre Manufacturers and Importers Association for EPR Compliance, the “Shinoecology” Association for the Promotion of Tyre Recovery and Recycling, and KazWaste.

This year, 50 companies from Russia, Belarus, India and China will take part in the exhibition. Let’s introduce some of the Russian exhibitors.

Ecomashgroup, a manufacturer of waste processing equipment, will showcase: drum separators; optical separators; air separators; ballistic separators; bag breakers; rotary container exchange systems; all types of conveyor equipment; robotic systems and presses.

NPO Olymp, a manufacturer of equipment for environmental and oil refining industries, will present: hearth incinerators for medical, biological, and bulky waste; rotary incinerators for paste-like, bulk, and fine waste; equipment for hydrocarbon utilisation through dehydration and distillation to obtain commercial hydrocarbons.

AeroFilter, a manufacturer of high-efficiency filtration equipment for the nuclear, industrial, and medical sectors, will showcase aerosol and aerosol-iodine filters, high-efficiency filtration units, sorbents, and filter housings at the exhibition.

Erga, a manufacturer of industrial equipment for waste and secondary resource recycling, will feature magnetic, optical, and gravity separators; integrated processing lines; and technologies for municipal solid waste, metals, plastics and glass.

Lemana PRO will exhibit a circular economy project for stretch packaging film waste. The multi-stage technological process includes sorting, cleaning, shredding, washing, extrusion, and granulation. Following this, new industrial waterproofing film is produced using up to 90% recycled content combined with virgin raw materials.

Natural Technologies, a research company developing innovative waste recycling solutions, will present a range of mineral-cellulose sorbents for the elimination of oil spills and other hazardous liquids on land and water, as well as for soil remediation.

Lexor, a manufacturer of waste sorting and recycling equipment, will showcase tyre recycling technologies including studded tyres; solutions for recycling rubber surfaces for playgrounds and sports facilities; and engineering solutions for automating separation and cleaning processes for various raw materials.

Ryazhsky Avtoremontniy Zavod (Ryazhsky Auto Repair Plant) specialises in the production of municipal and road maintenance equipment: refuse collection vehicles for mechanised or manual collection of municipal solid waste and bulky waste, combined road maintenance vehicles, and other products.
